N.Z. Manufacturers To Send Party On Visit To Australia

AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).—A party of New Zealand manufacturers will visit Australia later this year to inspect plants and factories. The trip will be made in response to an invitation by the Australian Government The party will divide into groups, according to the industry represented. Itineraries wall be arranged by the Australian Department of Commerce and Agriculture in conjunction with the Australian Association of Chambers of Manufacturers.

“The visit will be of great benefit to industrialists in both countries,” said Mr. S. Howard Hunter, president of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Association. "No country has made such spectacular progress in manufacturing industries as Australia. There should be no need for any great rivalry between Australia and New Zealand industrially,” he said, "but there was scope for further close co-peration for their mutual advantage.” When the party was being formed, consideration would be given to younger executive men in industry. Mr. Hunter stated that a party of Australian manufacturers would probably visit New Zealand next year.
