Satisfactory Response To Trygve Lie’s Appeal For Increased Aid

NEW YORK, July 21 (Recd. 9.15 pm).—Several members of United Nations have made confidential offers to send ground troops to aid the South Koreans, the “New York Times” said today.

Details of the offers, says the “Times,” are being kept secret for the time being, but American officials say things arc looking up in the way of aid to Korea. Diplomatic and military talks on the subject are going on in Lake Success, Washington and New York. The purpose of the talks is to iron out 'technical problems, including co-ordination, before revealing the offers of individual countries.
