PAEROA HEADACHE
That there are plenty of owners and trainers in the Auckland province anxious to make their horses earn some winter oats is evident from the list of entries for the Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s meeting at Paeroa next Saturday, the last of the current season. This extra fixture was announced just about a month ago, but there were 104 entries in the maiden race, 51 each in the hack hurdles and the ma n handicap, 42 in the open steeplechase, and hack fields ranging from 59 to 27, making a total of 402 for the day. Fortunately the acceptances show a thinning ou’t, but there must be some headaches in store for handicappers and others next season
