Cold Weather Down South
Cold weather has been experienced in the South Island. Christchurch had its heaviest frost this year yesterday, when 11.1 degrees were recorded at the observatory. At , the weather office, Wigram, the re- ! cording was 15.5 degrees. For the I first time this year, plumbers were i called out to repair burst pipes. I A frost of 14.3 degrees, the heaviest recorded for three years, occurred ' in Dunedin yesterday morning. This was heralded on Tuesday by an exceptionally high barometer reading, exceeding 31in. The weather today is brilliantly fine.
