(Own Correspondent. LABOUR PARTY ANNUAL MEETING. The Labour Party held their annual meeting on Wednesday night. Mr. E. A. Aiken presided over a good attendance. The balance-sheet was presented and the report was moved and A report on the Labour conference was made by Mr. Aiken. Mr. J. Bourke thanked Mr. Aiken for his report and the work he had done during his term of office as secretary. His resignation from that position was received with regret. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the ladies for their work during the year. Thanks were also extended to Messrs. T. Wells, R. Hawker, and Rosewarne for the use of their cars on election day. Mr. Aiken reported that the membership fee was now raised to 5s per annum, as passed at the conference. Election of officers resulted: President, Mr. M. Lamont; vice-president, Mr. R. Cox; secretarytreasurer, Mr. K. O’Leary; executive committee, Messrs. E. A. Aiken, R. Coster, R. Hawker, Mrs. W. Quayle, and Mrs. T. Welfe. LAWN TENNIS CLUB. The Tennis Club held its committee meeting on Thursday night. The main business discussed was the topdressing of the courts, which will now be done in the early spring. It was decided that the men have a working bee on June 14 to clear the surroundings of the courts. TABLE TENNIS CLUB. The Table Tennis Club played against the Patea Fire Brigade team on Thursday night at Patea. Patea were the winners by 35 games to 5. Teams were: Patea Fire Brigade: G. Clarkson, D. Fraser, C. Simon, A. Clarkson, K. Bloor, Mrs. Deidembottom, Kehely, and Morgan. Waverley: R. Huff, J. Knapp, Rev. Milmine, A. McLean, B. Kerslake, Miss E. Johnston, A. Bourke, and Mrs. Slater.
