Rules For Use Of Tech. Grounds By Outside Sports Teams

Rules governing the use of the college grounds and buildings by outside sports teams were adopted at last night’s meeting of the Wanganui Technical College Board of Managers. The rules were framed by the grounds and buildings committee. The college ground is used extensively by various clubs for practices and matches. The chairman of the grounds and buildings committee (Mr. T. H. Smith) said the greater the supervision exercised on the grounds, the greater care could be taken of the grounds. The rules were:— Practice times will be arranged with the principal. All grounds, buildings, and appurtenances thereto, must be properly supervised by club officials. Gates must be used for entry and exit to and from grounds. There must be no jumping over or pushing through fences. All bicycles must, be parked in the cycle sheds. Bicycles shall not be wheeled nor ridden on around or across the ground. Pavilion must be kept clean and tidy and in good order and condition. If after use by any team or teams the pavilion has to be cleaned, charges to cover the same will be levied on the club or clubs responsible. Damage to pavilion, grounds, or any buildings and appurtenances by any club or clubs using the same shall be charged against such club or clubs concerned. It is reserved to the principal to cancel all rights to the use of grounds if in his opinion the use thereof would be to their detriment. Responsibility for the observance of all or any of the foregoing rules and regulations rests with the officials of the particular club or clubs whose teams use the playing fields and buildings and appurtenances thereto. This proviso also extends to club supporters and all other spectators present, at such practices or games. If any club or clubs fail to observe the above rules and regulations such club or clubs shall immediately lose the privileges and use of the grounds, etc. Any such prohibition shall not cancel the right of the board to claim compensation for any damage done prior to such prohibition. The board reserves to itself the right to revise these conditions at any time.
