WAVERLEY NOTES

Chrysanthemum Show WAVERLEY, May 15 (O.C.)—The P.W.M.P, held their annual chrysanthemum show in the Town Hall on Friday. The judge of the blooms was Mr. Millar, of Wanganui, who also had a display of his own chrysanthemums. Mrs. J. Wilson and Mrs. Parsons- of Waitotara, judged the decorative section, and Mr, W. Hall was the judge of the vegetables. Though the blooms were not up to their usual standard, the children’s classes had large entries, and these were particularly good. The monthly meeting of the Wa-verley-Waitotara branch of the N. was held recently. The main item for discussion was Anzac Day and the new housing loans. Preparations are being made for the annual meeting. Under the new rules a ballot is taken to retire five members from the old, committee. Nomination forms are to be completed before Thursday, May 18. This year the annual meeting will be started earlier to allow time for a short “smoko” to follow the ordinary business. A grant of £3 3s was made to the Waverley School Committee for the showing of pictures to the R.S.A. members during the year.
