“RED” DEAN CANCELS NEW ZEALAND VISIT

AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— Dr. Hewlett Johnson, the “Red'’ Dean of Canterbury, has cancelled his planned visit to New Zealand this week. The refusal of the United States Government to allow him to pass through Honolulu on his way to Canada from New Zealand has made it necessary for him to return to London by way of the East. Arrangements which had been made for Dr. Johnkon to speak in Auckland on Saturday under the auspices of the Peace and Anti-Conscription Federation are being cancelled. However, another internationally-known speaker may come from Sydney. Adelaide Bans Use Of The Town Hall ADELAIDE, April 26 (Recd.. 8.20 pm).—The authorities today refused permission for the Town Hall to be used for a talk by the “Red” Dean, Dr. Hewlett Johnson, on Friday night. As a result Dr. Johnson will speak in a second-class city picture theatre.
