AMERICAN METHODS OF MALARIA CONTROL URGED IN PACIFIC

SUVA, April 26 (Recd. 11.40 p.m.) (From AA.P. Special Representative): High Chief Tuitele, of American Samoa, startled delegates at the South Pacific conference today when he claimed that American methods of malaria control in Samoa were the most advanced in the Pacific and Should be adopted by other territories. “We are quite prepared to give other ..peoples in the Pacific all our informant tion on mosquito control,” said Chief Tuitele.

Frank Aisi (New Guinea) voiced (concern at the malaria menace in New Guinea, where infant mortality was often 500 out of 1000 children in the first 12 months of life. Fijian representatives urged a Stronger anti-mosquito drive throughout the Pacific and said attention must be paid not only to native settlements but also to European ones.
