NEW ZEALANDER IS ACCLAIMED EMPIRE’S STRONGEST MAN
i AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— Cleghorn (New Zealand) was tonight acclaimed “the strongest man in the Empire” when he won the jerking by lifting 3101bs at: the Empire Games. Tan Kim Bee (Malaya) gain.d third place in the light-heavyweight class J and the Vital one point which secured the team championship for Malaya. I Tho Fook Hung and Koh Eng Tong (both Malaya) took the bantam and feather classes respectively and Thong Saw Pak (Malaya) was placed second in the lightweight, class. This gave the Malayan team 15 points. Canada > gained 13 points for second place and | New Zealand was third with eight points.
