Wright Stephenson’s Agreement With Abraham And Williams Shareholders
WELLINGTON, Last Night (P.A.) —Proposals made by Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., to the shareholders and debenture holders of Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have now become effective. Letters of allotment have been sent to those receiving a new issue of ordinary and preference shares and a cash settlement is being made, as agreed, today to all others. A few share and debenture holders who have at that date not accepted may still do so before March 31. An interim dividend at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum for the four months ended today, is being paid to shareholders of Abraham and Williams, Ltd. by that company. The new issue of ordinary and preference shares made by Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd. will rank for dividend as from January, 1950, that is, if and when a final dividend is declared. All shares, both old and new issues, will rank alike. Holders of the new issue shares may deal with them on the same basis as the old issue when the company’s share registers reopen tomorrow.
