WESTPORT, Last Night (PA).— Despite scattered rain last night and during today the Westport Trotting Club opened its annual meeting after a postponement yesterday. Despite the unfavourable weather the track was in good order and there was a fair crowd. The totalisator handled £20,209, compared with £26,413 10s last year. On.the double totalisator 756 ten-shilling, tickets were purchased on the first "leg” winner of the Westport Handicap, Springbok, but only 753 were handed in on the second "leg,” the Gothard Handicap, won by Almeta.
