NAENAE STATE HOUSE RENTS WERE LOST AND THEN RCOVERED
WELLINGTON Last Night (PA).—A bag containing £645, mostly in £5 and £1 notes, was lost and recovered in Lower Hutt to day.
An officer of the State Advances Corporation had collected rents from the occupants of State Houses in the Naenae area and was taking them by car into Lower Hutt to bank. When ho arrived at Lower Hutt he was without the bag. Mr. W. H. Wheeler, caretaker of the horticultural hall, found the money arid took it to the police station. There a very grateful State Advances officer collected it late in the afternoon.
