Maryburn Destroyed With Broken Leg
PALMERSTON N„ Last Night (Special).—When working over a mile with Terrific on the course proper at Awapuni this •morning the well-fancied Cup Candidate, Maryburn, broke a leg and was destroyed. * Maryburn was ridden* by W. J. Broughton and Terrific by V. J. Sellars. They were travelling well about half a furlong from the post when Maryburn came to grief. He did not fall and he did not go far before Broughton had him at a standstill. The mishap took much of the interest out of the rest of the work, which was witnessed by a big gallery of enthusiasts.
