Brownie Pack Goes Carolling

On Wednesday night the Brownies from Wanganui East Pack, with Brown Owl (Mrs Ewan Cameron) and Tawny Owl (Mrs. Watson) went acarolling. They sang 4 carols at each house, and visited all the Brownies’ parents, as well as the old people they visited during Guide Week. Half way Mrs. Haworth gave everyone a big orange drink, and after the carols were all over, Mrs. Amer gave them all a lovely party, with jellies, and cakes and ice cream. The Brownies had been learning carols during the year, and introduced as well some well known favourites, some of the older carols. Of course Brownie people never go a-carolling for money, as that is against their rules, but they accepted from some of the houses, bags of sweets, just to help them on their way. This is the second time that the Wanganui East Pack have sung carols to their friends, and the residents in that area thoroughly enjoyed the efforts of the little folk—their ages being from 8 to 11 years.
