CHURCH SERVICE OF DEDICATION TO THE NEW GOVERNMENT

AUCKLAND. Last Night (PA).—A Parliamentary dedication church service for the Prime Minister (Mr. Holland) and local members of the new National Government on Sundaymorning is believed to be without precedent in Auckland, although “churching” of city councils is a common custom. It will take place at St. Andrew’s, the 100-years-olrt mother of the city’s Presbyterian churches. The Rev. D. N. Pryor will officiate. Mr. Holland's words in his national broadcast on election night: “I dedicate myself before my countrymen to this great task . . . please God I shall not fail!” inspired the idea, among well-wishers in Auckland, to hold the service.
