RACEHORSE DOPING ALLEGED IN SYDNEY
SYDNEY, Dec 14 (Recd 10 pm).— Sensational disclosures alleged to have been made to the police on the doping of the racehorse Smooth Action in Sydney and of horse-doping activities in Melbourne and Brisbane were made in the Central Court today during the hearing of a conspiracy charge against Terence Guy, stablehand, aged 21, and Thomas Gleeson, chemist, aged 49. Guy and Gleeson, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiracy to administer- a drug to Smooth Action and to a second charge of conspiracy with John Spavin Myles to drug Smooth Action, were committed for trial.
The police allege that Myles confessed that he arranged with Gleeson for a supply of dope and introduced Guy to Gleeson.
