Inquiry Sought On Statement By Board Of Trade President
LONDON, Dec. 14’(Recd. 11.10 pm). —A number of Opposition members of the House of Commons have tabled a resolution calling tor a Select Committee to inquire into allegations by the Board of Trade President, Mr Harold Wilson, in a speech (at Liverpool on September 14. Mr Wilson was reported to have said that a number of Yorkshire employers gave instructions to sack some of their men every month to get the best out of the workers. The Cnambers of Commerce of Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield have written to Mr Wilson asking for an explanation.
