Mr. H. Rollet, the first secretary at the French Legation, will leave for France on furlough on January 23. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Rollet and their family. Mr J. P. Wildman, of Auckland, manager in New Zealand for the Colonial Sugar Refining Co., Ltd., for the past 12 years, will retire on De-' cember 31. He has been on the staff I of the company lor 42 years. Mr I Wildman will be succeeded by Mr R. | M. Saddington, refinery manager at the Chelsea works. —(PA) Brigadier Sydney Bridge, of Auck-1 land, has been appointed field secre-, tary of the Salvation Army to succeed Lt.-Col. Charles Gray, who announced his retirement recently. Brigadier Bridge will be installed at the Citadel, Vivian Street, this evening by Commissioner R. M. Astbury, assisted by the chief secretary (Lt.Colonel C. Duncan). Mr. W. M. Will, clerk of the Magistrates’ Court, at Hastings, begins Ms retiring leave or Friday, alter g2 years' service with the Justic Department. Reference to his efficiency and courteous manner was made hy Mr. Sinclair, S.M., and other speakers at the Magistrates’ Court sitting at Hastings yesterday. The Rev. Father Francis Durning, of te staff of St. Patrick’s College, Wellington, has been appointed Rector of St. Patrick's College, Silversteam, in success to tlie Rev. Fattier L. Evatt, whose term expires in January. Father Durning, who was transferred to Wellington from Christchurch 10 years ago has for the past three years been director of the Catholic University Students' Guild. —P.A. The Rev. Father Elias Economou, the new priest of the Greek Orthodox Church, Wellington, arrived by the Monowai on Tuesday morning. He comes from Corinth. He will conduct his first service in New Zealand at t.iie -Greek Church, Lloyd Street, on Sunday, and the same evening will be tendered a welcome by the Greek community at the- Marion Street Hall. He succeeds the Very Rev. Archimandrite Chrysostomos Boylaroglu, who has been transferred to Brisbane. I
