At the final meeting of the year of the Wanganui Townswomen’s Guild, which took the form of a Christmas party held in Christ Church Parish Hall, the president, Miss A. H. Prior to the serving of afternoon tea, the president expressed warm thanks to Mrs. G. Spooner for her combined work as hostess for the teas and for all she had done for the guild during the year. Mrs. Spooner was accorded musical honours. Sprays were presented to all who had contributed to the programme, to Mrs. J. Richardson, producer of the play, and members of the cast. Mrs. Spooner cut the Christmas cake, which she had kindly made for the party and had been iced by Mrs. J. C. Batt. Mrs. J. C.
