WANGANUI EAST WINS KEESING BOWLING CUP FROM GONVILLE CLUB
The Gonville Bowling Club lost the Keesing Cup yesterday to Wanganui East. The winners played slightly better bowls than Gonville through very close and interesting game, Some very good bowling was seen. Wanganui East led 12 to 11 at one stage and the final score was 18 to 13. It was Gonville’s 18th game for the trophy since the club won It in 1947 from Raetihi. Wanganui East: S. Rowan (lead), F. McDonald (3), E. Fletcher (3), F. Dempster (skip), Gonville: W. Edlin, W. Corby, P. J. Mailman and J. Glover.
