VICE-REGAL The Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, went into Lewisham Hospital (Wellington) yesterday. He is suffering a temporary and slight indisposition. His engagements have been cancelled for a few days. Mr. S. C. Sutherland, Wellington, has been appointed to the board of directors of the New Zealand Insurance Co. Ltd. Mr. Sutherland is chairman of directors of Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., and Abraham and Williams Lid.—(P.A.). Mr. W. B. Tennent, chairman of the Wanganui Education Board, was congratulated at the monthly meeting yesterday on his election 1o Parliament as member for Palmerston North. Mr. W. Bromiley said that Mr. Tennent’s election was a source of pleasure to members of the board, who had watched his progress with interest. “I am quite sure he will reach greater heights in Parliamentary career,” Mr. Bromiley added. Other speakers wore Messrs. W. G. Price, F. C. Jannings, E. R. Hodges. I. W. Mudford and Mrs. D. G. Gordon and Dr. W. J. Jordan.
