End-Of-Year Meeting Of Wanganui Women’s Section Of National Party
The last, committee meeting of the Women’s Section of the Wanganui National Party for 1949 was held on Monday. Reports were tabled from the organisers of the St. John’s Hill branch card party and of the garden fair held by ail branches at the residence of Mrs VV. H. Ward. These functions were highly successful. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Ward tor the use of her home and garden for the fair. The five public meetings for women organised by the Women’s Section for the candidate, Mr O'Keeffe, were all well attended. A vote of congratulation and confidence in Mr O'Keeffe was carried with acclamation. It was decided to discontinue the tea days at the party rooms for two months. The president, Miss E. Newton, thanked all those who had undertaken tea duty. The meeting terminated with congratulations and good wishes to the committee.
