Israel Protests Over Jerusalem Control
NEW YORK. Nov. 15 (Recd. 6 p.m.) Israel called on the General Assembly to reject as unjust an unrealistic the Palestine Conciliation Commission's plan to internationalise the Jerusalem area. Israel at the same time offered to enter into international agreements with United Nations to ensure the safety and immunity of Holy Places in Jerusalem and guarantee religious rights. The Israeli delegation asserted that under the Commission’s plan the Israel Government would not retain in Jewish Jerusalem “a fraction of the normal functions and authority which any ordinary Government exercises in any area under its jurisdiction.”
