MR. A. F. McMURTRIE TO RETIRE FROM EDUCATION DEPT. AT END OF YEAR
Formerly senior inspector of primary schools for the Wanganui Education Board, Mr. A. F. McMurtrie, 1.5.0., will retire from the position ol Assistant Director of Education at the end of this year. During the recent absence of the Director of Education (Dr. C. E. Booby), Mr. McMurtrie was acting director.
[ Mr. McMurtrie served first as a J teacher and then joined the inspectorate staff. He came senior inspector lat Wanganui prior to the war and was subsequently transferred 1o the I staff of the Education Department, in | Wellington. He was Chief Inspector lof Primary Schools before taking up j his present position.
