LADY GODIVA UNVEILED.—Mrs. Lewis Douglas, wife of the U.S. Ambassador to Britain, unveiling a statue of Lady Godiva at Coventry. Before the unveiling, wind twice blew the flags down. When Mrs. Douglas pulled the cord to release the flags they fell to the statue’s waist. Coventry Council this week built barricades around the statue to prevent sightseers from trampling on grass and flower-beds.
