“Fake’’ pockets add fashion sparkle and no dimensions to smooth-fitting waistline of this city-going suit from New York. Made in Forstmann’s stone grey covert of 100 per cent, wool, this match-slim tailleur, designed by Philip Mangone, is rich with self-contained detail. A proud salute to another fine fabric endorsed by American fashion this season, it makes the most of wool covert’s tailoring beauty. Sharp cutaway of the jacket is smooth and dramatic against the classic unbroken line of the skirt. Double-breasted closing gives sculptured shape to jacket topped by a wide notched lapel trimmed in brown velvet. Trunk-sleeves are slightly padded at shoulders and self-cuffed.— NjE.
