WANGANUI BROAD JUMP RECORD BEATEN; POLE VAULT RECORD EQUALLED
Excellent pole vaulting was seen at the twilight sports, held on Cook's I Gardens last night, when the postponed sports from last Thursday were held in the presence of a large crowd of spectators. R. McPhun, in the pole vault, recorded 10ft.. equalling the club record established by H. R. G. Percy before the war. In the senior broad jump K. Forsythe registerred the fine distance of 21ft. Ilin., and beat the previous club record held by H. M. Shewan, of 21ft. 6Jin.. made in 1940. Detailed results:— TRACK EVENTS. 357yds (senior and junior): D. Jackson 1, M. McCulloch 2, 1.
