TRAGEDY IN NEW YORK HOTEL

NEW YORK, Nov. 4. Pretty Mushana Balkanska Zolyak, 33, and Wei Huan-kuo, 28, a Chinese documents clerk employed by the United Nations, were found fatally stabbed in a hotel room today.

Zolyak, who was of Bulgarian extraction, was translator and announcer for the “Voice of America” the State Department’s broadcasting station.

The couple returned to a hotel room after an evening at the ballet, “The Sleeping Beauty.” The man plunged a knife into the woman’s body 17 times, and then drove the knife six times’into his own chest. Police could find no motive for the tragedy. There was no evidence of a struggle and no suicide notes. The couple had been dead about eight hours when the bodies were discovered. Zolyak was a naturalised American. Her husband is employed in the State Department’s European research division at Washington.
