REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY; SOME CHURCHES TO HOLD SERVICES NEXT WEEK

AUCKLAND, Last Night (P.A.)— Because of a misunderstanding Remembrance Sunday for the commemoration of the First and Second World Wars was not observed in all Auckland churches today. At St. Mary’s Cathedral a remembrance service will he held next Sunday morning, because it was thought [that Remembrance Sunday was to fall on the nearest Sunday to November 11, which was Armistice Day. Some other Anglican churches will also hold their services next Sunday for the same reason. However, in many churches commemorative services were held today, and these generally commenced before 11 o'clock to enable congregations to observe two minutes’ silence.
