SERVICE STATIONS NOT TO OPEN ON SATURDAY MORNINGS

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA) —Service stations will not open or Saturdays as the result of a notice issued by the Oil Fuel Controller, revoking Saturday morning closing restrictions, said an official of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Associa tion today. The hours of emergency stations would be extended, however, and ir respect of Wellington they will be open from eight a.m. to noon as fron next Saturday. Because rationing anr costs and hours involved, the associa tion has resolved not to open addi tional stations on Saturdays, he said Service station employees were al ready working 54 hours per week ant the association did not wish t< lengthen their hours.
