Wanganui St. John Ambulance Cadets Win At Hawera

Members of the Wanganui St. John Ambulance Brigade ambulance cadet and nursing cadet teams competed with success in competitions held in Hawera last week-end. Aramoho A were the winners of the Whittingham Shield with 74J points, the first Wanganui team to win the trophy in several years. The second team in the competition, which drew eight entries, was Wanganui Marist, which scored 68. Hawera A were third with 65i points. Other Wanganui teams performed well against strong Taranaki opposition. Hawera won the Coates Shield with 91 i points, Wanganui A being close behind with 89i. Aramoho A scored 88 points to take third place. There were five entries in this competition. Members of the successful Aramoho team, winners of the Whittingham Shield, were H. Sleight, B. Hudson, N. Cartwright and B. Rogers. The team was trained by Cadet Superintendent C. E. Hamling and Cadet Officer T. A. Hamling. The latter accompanied the team to Hawera.
