All Three Marton M.R.C. Teams Win Against Ohakea

The highlight of the miniature rlfl« competition shoot between Marton and Ohakea decided at Ohakea thin week, was the very good “possible" of 70.2 by the youngest member of the Marton Club, Gordon Holder. This is his first season of shooting and the first time he has shot in a competition. His achievement, therefore, was a creditable one. T. Taylor and H. Coles (Marton) and E. Ingram and N. Ingram (Ohakea) also netted “possibles.” Marton won the contest by a narrow margin. Teams scores for the evening were:— Ohakea A and B.—E. Ingram 70.3, 67.1, 137.4; B. Matthews 69.2, 65.2, 137.4; D. BASKETBALL SPOILT BY RAIN. Heavy showers, which set in, early in the afternoon, caused the. abandonment Of all A grade matches at Marton on Saturday. Two B grade games which wer played resulted:— . P Primary (1) 3 drew with Primary Junction 14 beat St. Stephens 1. Primary (3) a bye. Rep practices were held later in the afternoon when the rain ceased and from these games a final selection of the C team to play Taihape next Saturday was made.
