111 Health Compels National Party Candidate To Withdraw
Because of illhealth, Mr. A. Scarrow (Raetihi), who was the National Party candidate to contest the Waimarino seat at the forthcoming General Election, has withdrawn Mr. Scarrow suffered a sudden seizure last month and is still an inmate of the Waimarino Hospital at Raetihi. His health is improving. The withdrawal of Mr. Scarrow's candidature was received with regret and th e hope was expressed that he would soon be restored to his usual good health. In 1941 Mr. Scarrow was selected to contest the same seat in the interests of the National Party, but the election was postponed that year because of the war.
Immediate steps are being taken by the Waimarino electorate to fill the vacancy.
