Ohakune Sale
The New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Distributing Co., Ltd., held their monthly sale at Ohakune on Monday, when a total clearance was effected at values well up to recent values. The sheep penned came forward in fair order and sold readily. Medium w.f. wether lambs sold from 27s 6d to 30s, while 2th wethers in fair order realised 395, with another line changing hands at 38s. The advertised 2th ewes were an exceptionally good line, being well grown, low set sheep with a good fleece and were sold to a local buyer at 49s 6d. A full yarding of cattle met with a slow sale ,but a total clearance was effected at satisfactory values. A pen of 20 forward conditioned P.A. cows made £lO, while 17 well grown 15yr. PA. heifers changed hands at £lO 12s. The advertised 60 P.A. weaner steers were sold at £S 2s 6d, while the 60 weaner P.A. heifers made £6 2s 6d, both lots going to a local buyer. A truck of September calving 3rd and 4th calver cows made £l2, while 2yr. Jersey heifers (springing) sold up to £l3 10s. Empty Jersey cows and heifers sold at late market rates.
