WELLINGTON. A 40-year-cld native of India, Monion Miana, a ship's fireman, pleaded guilty through an interpreter in the Magistrate’s Court today to a charge of importing opium into New Zealand. The magistrate (Mr .k S. Hanna) imposed a fine of £l5O. Evidence was given that accused had two pounds of opium concealed on his person when he was accosted by detectives when leaving the wharf.
