EFFORT TO GET MORE MEAT FOR FOKBRITAiN FROM EAST AFRICA
LONDON, May 31 (Recd. 6pm).— The Colonial Office has decided to carry out a survey of meat-producing resources of Britain’s East African colonies, with the object of securing supplies to supplement the British meat ration. The Governors of Colonial territories have been informed that Britain will find the necessary money and equipment to improve cattle raising facilities, and provide refrigerated storage and ships. Special officers of the Colonial Department will be sent to East African territories to assist the Governors in carrying out the survey. It is also hoped to increase East African production of animal feedingstuffs for export to Britain.
