TRANSPORT CHARGES ’ COMMITTEE. THE Transport Charges Appeal Authority in pursuance of his powers under subsection (2) of section 20 of the Transport Law Amendment Act, 1948. has directed the Transport Charges Committe pursuant to the terms of the said section, to proceed to review the charges for the carriage of goods in all rate schedule areas in New Zealand and in individual licences and also in those areas, boroughs, or town districts where no rate schedule is prescribed (including the charges for the carriage of goods in all city and town carrying rate schedules) for the purpose of considering whether any increase, or increases, in such charges are warranted by reason of current increases in wages prescribed by the Court of Arbitration and affecting the carrying industry and if so, for the purpose of prescribing such new, or amended, rate schedules, or otherwise, ot providing for such increases in charges, if any, as may be deemed oroper and appropriate in the circumstances.
