National Party Candidate For Eastern Maori
ROTORUA, Last Night (PA).—The National Party organiser for the Eastern Maori eelctorate advises that Mr T. Carroll, of Wairoa. Hawke’s Bay, a nephew of the late Sir James Carroll, has been nominated for se’ection as a candidate by his people, the Ngatikahungunua tribe- whose territory runs from Mahia to Wairarapa. He has also been unanimously nominated by the Arawa confederation (Maketu Io Taupo) and the Whakatohau (Opotiki district) tribal supporters of the National Party. In view of such strong representations, Mr Carroll has agreed to be nominated for the general election. A selection meeting is to be held at Rmtoki (Whakatane County) on June 18.
