CHURCHILL WANTS PREPAREDNESS FOR AN AUTUMN ELECTION
LONDON, May 28 (Recd. 6pm).— “We must be ready for an autumn election, if it comes. We must be mobilised,” said Mr Churchill, speaking to a Conservative rally at Chilwell, Essex. Referring to Labour defeats earlier this month in country-wide elections, Mr Churchill said- “The recent elections have proved the growing distaste of the masses for the record o'.' our Socialist masters.” Condemning the Governments nationalisation policy. he asserted: “Rigid centralised direction imposes its will on its employees far more harshly than any private management would have dared or needed to do.
