New British Controlled Grazing Equipment Demonstrated.—British farmers are becoming interested in controlled grazing because of the shortage of feeding stuffs. This method of grazing allows livestock to consume each day only their precise requirements over a small area of ground, and is achieved by the new Portapylon electric fencing equipment which was demonstrated recently on a farm near Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England. This picture shows the ease by which the new Portapylons, each weighing less than 611b5., can be handled. The operator is running the electric wiring out to a line of them in a field.
