Mr. Justice Ongley, who has been presiding over siltings of the Compensation Court in Wanganui, leaves Jiis afternoon for New Plymouth. Mr G. P. Mr A. Linton’s service to the dairy industry on the New Zealand Dairy Board was appreciated at last night’s ward conference ot the board in Wanganui. A motion of appreciation of Irs services was carried with acclamation. Mr A. R. Laird, chairman of directors of the Wes.mere Dairy Company and chairman of ihe Dairy Section of the Wanganui Provincial Executive of Federated Farmers’ will r.present the Wanganui ward at the annual [conSfrence of the New Zealand Dairy I Board. ! Mr W. E. Hale, of Turua, Hauraki Plains, chairman of the New Z?aland Dairy Board, Mr A. Linton (Gr'ey|town), central ward representative on ithe board Mr C. H. Cmrtney (secreItary). and Mr A. 11. Ward, director of herd improvements, were visitors to i Wanganui last night, when they attended a ward conference. They later proceeded to Stratford. Mrs. M. M. Corby, wife of Mr W. S. Uoiby, who died recently, was referred to at last night’s meeting cf the management committee of the Wa -1 .- gr.nui Rugby Union by the chairman Mr. J. Moye. He said Mr. Corby 1 / been closely identified with Wan. •. nui Rugby as a sports writer for more than 40 years. A motion of sympathy with the relatives was carried.
