FARMERS WANT ONE PRICE FOR MANURE AND FERTILISER

A single “on the farm" price for all manures and fertilisers is wanted by farmers in the Wanganui district so that, those whose properties are distant from the railways are not placed in an unfavourable position in relation to those who are farming the front country land. This was stated by Mr F. K. Pearce, a member of the recent committee of Federated Farmers who presented evidence to the Royal Sheep Farming Commission, wheft speaking to members of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce on Mon lay night. This point, he said, had been made to the Commission, and the chamber, if it desired to help the bock country farmer, could back up Iho -.u -gest'on. The special committee also recom-

mended to th' Commission that a subsidy scheme based on and similar to the 4b scheme in operation just before the outbreak of war, should be inaugurated to cover a.l packing and topdressing by hand of fertiliser and lime.
