LOWER PRICE LEVELS AT THE FINAL HAWKE’S BAY WOOL SALE OF 1949

NAPIER, Last Night (PA). —Considerably lower levels ruled for the final Hawke’s Bay wool sale of the present season, accorning to an official report, which stated:

“The final sale of the 1948-49 season was held at Napier today before a fully representative bench of buyers, when competition was well spread but at considerably lower price levels compared with our previous sale. Prices were very firm on recent auctions. Halfbred wools and lambs, in particular, were most affected by the drop in prices. There was practically a total clearance of all catalogues to the trade.” The following is the official range of prices:—
