Acclimatisation Society’s Funds Accumulating; No Purchases Of Game Birds

‘‘Because of the inability to obtain supplies of game birds over several years past, the funds have been accumulating to an extent which is not in the best interests of acclimatisation,” states the president, Mr. H. Manguson, in his annual report to the Wanganui Acclimatisation Society. Last year, he states, expenditure exceeded revenue by £l5, and after deducting this amount, the accumulated funds now stand at £llB9. ‘‘Now that your council has decided to endeavour to develop fishing in our territory, and with the prospects of getting more birds for liberation, it is anticipated that lor a period all revenue will be spent each year,” the report adds. Revenue last year totalled £2BO 7s, compared with £244 12s 9 the previous year. Details of receipts are (previous figures in parentheses): Game licences, £192 17s (£lBB 15s), fishing licences, £56 11s 6d (£35 15s 9d); interest, £2O 8s lOd (£2O 2s); donations, £ll (nil).
