Annual Meeting Of Wanganui Chess And Draughts Club
Presided over by Mr A. J Ratliff, Wanganui Chess and Draughts Club the annual general meeting of the was held recently. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. W. Willis; president, Mr. A. J. Ratliff; vice-presidents, Messrs. N. R Lyth, P. Prince, Whitlock, sen., and Turner; captains, Mr. N. M. Cromarty (chess) and Mr. P. Prince (draughts); secretary-treasurer, Mr. X. D Smith; committee, Messr . Whitlock. Spencer Smith, Wallace, ' King, Williamsand Kiley. The club was congratulated by M Ratliff on the good organisation which marked the success of the recent New Zealand Chess Congress held in Wanganui. In the opening match of the season between two teams from club personnel the president’s team, with * seven points, defeated tfe secretary’s] team, with lour points.
