Another Russian Scientist Makes An Apology, Withdrawing Some Assertions

Charges against Varga, and several other leading Soviet economists, of “errors and manifestations of bourgeois objectivism” were recently made before the Council of the Economic institute of the Academy of Science in Moscow. The council decided that Varga was guilty of “slavish fawning before foreign things.” Varga then made a statement admitting his errors, but subsequently demands were made that he should make a public admission of his faults. This appears to be the object of the | article in “Economic Problems.”
