SUCCESSFUL SHOW PRESENTED BY BARTON’S FOLLIES A non-stop variety show which

lived up to its description was presented by Barton’s Follies under the big top at Cook’s Gardens last night. An attendance of 1500 people enjoyed some excellent entertainment. Star performer of the show was Jandy, the eccentric musical clown, who gave a really first class performance. Costumed in truly clown style, he produced music from numerous sources, his fingers, his clothes, a set of hotties and finally from an instrument comprising a framework with rows of bells. He received a tremendous ovation at the end of his . ' act. J Another star performer who amazed the audience with her act was Clarissa, a young contortionist. The Flying Kilroys were a trio whose highly dangerous feats of balancing rated with the best seen in Wanganui in recent years. The leading comedian of the show, Willie Berrigan, kept the crowd in good humour. He was well supported by Hal Lennon, Jerry Keogh, and that clever impressionist Buddy Morley. Vai Jellay and her ballet, the violinist Elvy Ferguson, the orchestra, and , many others contributed to the lively programme. Last night’s show demonstrated once again the popularity of flesh and blood shows with the public.
