Judges Pay Tribute To High Quality Of The Blooms
“They are some of the best blooms I have* ever seen in any part of New Zealand,’’ said Mr. i. T. Tyndall (Christchurch), judge of the large exhibition and decorative sections in the nationM chrysanthemum show. “The qual'•fy all round is exceptionally igh.” The season, he said, had •en a deceptive one. It had, •rst of all, appeared that it ■vould be early, but it had turned »ut to b«* lute. This had improve t .U* blooms in his sections. “Tile exhibition singles are cry line lot.’’ commented Mr. It. . Wilson, of Ta rad ale, Hawke s Bay, the other judge. “They are is good as I have seen for many years. They show the result of <reat can* taken in their cultivation anti preparation, and are a rrdit to the growers.” Both judges said that the judging of the chrysanthemums had jeon a real pleasure to them. There was not a poor entry in any of the sections. The high quality had meant that the judging had to be carried out with fineness, hut it was a pleasure to do so. Both agreed that the quality of the blooms was the best they had seen for many years.
