Annual Meeting Of The Utiku Branch Of Women’s Division
TAIHAPE, April 26 (OC).—Prior to the annual meeting of the Utiku Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, the monthly meeting was held, Mrs L. Hebberd presiding over a good attendance. Several apologies were tendered. Mrs Moore presented the monthly financial statement and Mrs Marchioni submitted the hospital report. Mrs A. Jones read several letters from England thanking th'e Utiku branch for parcels. Mrs Hebberd read a letter from the leper secretary thanking Bryan and Graham Marchioni for Christmas toys. It was reported that Mrs R. Dean had sent several parcels to England. Mrs P. Wilson and Mrs Brooke were appointed hostesses foi May. ANNUAL MEETING Mrs Hebberd welcomed all members including Mrs Kirkham, provincial president, and Mrs Coleman and Mrs Findlay, at the annual meeting, which opened with the divisional song and creed. The president read the annual report and the treasurer, Mrs Moore, presented the balance-sheet and moved its adoption, which was seconded by Mrs G. N. Transom and carried. Several members thanked Mrs Hebberd for her report on the activities of the branch during the year. Mrs Marchioni read the annual hospital report, which was seconded by Mrs Palmer. Several members complimented Mrs Marchioni on the report. Mrs A. Jones, overseas parcels secretary. presented her annual report, stating that 19 parcels had been'sent overseas during the year. She thanked all members who had contributed towards the contents of the parcels. The meeting was informed that eight housekeepers had been employed during the year. Mrs Hebberd thanked all those who had worked in different positions during the year. Mrs Kirkham commented on the reports and thanked members for their loyalty to the provincial council during the year. ELECTION OF OFFICERS The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Mrs L. Hebberd (re-elected); secretary, Mrs F. Beuck (acting); treasurer, Mrs J. Moore; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Meredith, P. Becker, E. J. Smith; housekeeper secretary. Mrs W. Thurston; provincial delegates, Mesdames G. M. Transom and A. Jones; hospital visitors, Mesdames Brooke, J. Loughnane, P. H’enery; parcels secretary, Mrs A. Jones; press correspondent, Mrs Hebberd; auditors Messrs Mellsop and Ashenden. Shoulder sprays were presented to the two retiring vice-presidents, to all officials and to -he visitiors, Mesdames Kirkham. Coleman and Findlay. Mrs Kirkham was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for occupying the chair.
